It’s been a great start to the New Year. At the New Year’s Eve service in Rockford we were encouraged to take committed, focused, personal time in the Word this year. There are many areas of our lives that need to be maintained, but at the heart of all, and what interfaces with every area of our lives, is our relationship with God.
At RHEMA, we had a night of Prayer and Praise on Sunday night, as well. Many things came out of that, but something that God put in my heart personally is that 2011 is going to be a “banner year”. I had heard that phrase before, but wasn’t confident that I really knew what it meant. When I did some research after I got home, this is what I discovered... A Banner Year is “a year which is unusually good or outstanding because something is especially successful.” In another place, the word “banner” was defined as “of high or superior quality or performance; superior wisdom derived from experience.” And then yesterday I was reminded that His banner over me is LOVE.
I know in my heart that there are multi-facets to what God is saying when He told me it’s going to be a banner year, but even in these natural definitions, it certainly creates an expectancy in me for something good!
