Day of Beauty Carrying On...

For the last year, Cindy McKinney and
I have been connecting in prayer and following
God’s leading regarding an outreach on the the
University of Arkansas campus called Day of Beauty touching college‐
age women struggling with self‐injury, eating
disorders and other issues often stemming from
low‐self worth. While I was in school, God gave
further insight about Day of Beauty in
connection with a project I was assigned for a
class. Through the spring, it has been quite amazing to walk things out with the Lord. I've met some wonderful people who have encouraged me that Day of Beauty is needed, given practical insight on how to move forward, and have even found people interested in being a part of it. It's been God's heart and idea from the start, and He is bringing it to pass.

As Cindy and her husband John prepare to transition to Thailand at the end of the year, she has released and entrusted the continued development and nurturing
of Day of Beauty to me. In many ways, this spring has continued to be a seed planting time with it, but I believe that, as God continues to lead, what has started as a seed will ultimately bloom and bear fruit in many lives. In fact, one of my professors, through her counseling organization, has on her heart to begin implementing parts of the Day of Beauty program here in the Tulsa area this summer and
I'm continuing to make connections with people in Arkansas in hopes that it will be able to begin there as well. Your prayers are appreciated!
