And then He shared His heart with me: Dear One, I hear you...I see you...I understand how big this is for you...I am here with you and I treat your weakness tenderly. I will do something about what you are going through. Yes--it is the season of harvest...of souls, for certain, but also of the many seeds you have sown. You have forgotten many of them, but I have not. I have counted your faithfulness more than your failure. I’ve noted your “yes” more than your resistance. I’ve even counted your tears, and those, too, are measured as seed that will produce harvest. Those who sow in tears will reap with joy. Expect it, Beloved.
I hope this encourages someone today. Join me in expecting God to do what only He can do…and in expecting the harvest He has promised.
Psalm 126 (from various translations)
It was like a dream come true when you freed us from our bondage and brought us back to the place of your presence! 2 Then our mouths were filled with laughter, and our tongues with singing. We laughed and laughed and overflowed with gladness. We were left shouting for joy and singing your praise. All the nations saw it and joined in, saying, “The Lord has done great things for them!” 3 Yes, he has done mighty miracles and we are overjoyed! 4 Now, Lord, do it again! Change our circumstances for the better. Restore us to our former glory! Bring rains to our drought-stricken lives. Just as the rain brings water back to dry riverbeds, may streams of your refreshing flow over us until our dry hearts are drenched again. 5 Those who sow their tears as seeds will reap a harvest with songs of joy. 6 They may weep as they go out carrying their seed to sow, but they will return with joyful laughter and shouting with gladness as they bring back Your harvest overflowing!
