A Fresh Start to Mom's Garden for a New Season Ahead...

Picture
Mom's birthday week started with a family celebration of cards, decadent brownies, and lots of love before she left the next day for a long weekend in Michigan. Little did she know that she would have an even bigger surprise when she got back!

My sister, Jen, planned out a flower bed for the front of Mom's house and pulled out plants from her personal garden to get Mom's started. In the meantime, I "rallied the troops" to do a one-day transformation of her yard. Well...with prep work and final touches, the project really went from Thursday to Monday, but on Saturday, nine of us tackled the brunt of the work, and the end results were amazing!  We all kind of felt like we were on one of those home make-over shows you see on TV!

And just as we'd thought, Mom was speechless, overwhelmed, and then had tears of gratitude when she came home from Michigan to discover what we had done. THANK YOU to everyone that had a part! Even my Aunt sent back flowers to add in from her gardens in Michigan. Your care for my Mom through your labors of love touched her deeply...and touched me too!

Enjoy the before and after shots below. I only wish I had more shots of the people doing the work...but I heard some are glad I didn't capture them in their "worker best". :^)  Blessings and many thanks, again, to each of you!
